Moses' Song (יהוה)

"Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God." (Deut. 32:1-3) Moses' song is likened unto rain and dew primarily because the content of his song can bring life to those who hearken. And what was the content of his song? What was so life-giving and refreshing about it? Verse 3 says: "...I will publish the name of the LORD." That means he will proclaim the name of the LORD. That is why his song is special. It is special because he is declaring to all who God really is. God has several names, but the name that is frequently used in the Bible is that which is revealed to us as Jehovah or LORD (in all caps).

Recognizing who God is and submission to Him will result in having a meaningful and fruitful life. Moses has come to the end of his life, although he was barred from entering into Canaan, he did not allow God's punishment to embitter his spirit. Moses rather declares to the Israelites the greatness and steadfastness of the LORD, and the one responsibility they had, and we do as well, is found in the latter part of verse 3 "...ascribe ye greatness unto our God." This could very well be every living creature's purpose: to ascribe greatness unto our God.

Here's a message you can give Marcia: I GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE ON THURSDAY!!!!
I can't wait! My family is supposed to come. My dad is not saved, so if you guys would, please pray for him.
Also, have you ever heard of a church called Faith Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA, Pastor Don Forrester? I'm trying to find out more about. From what I've read, it sounds pretty decent, but none of the staff around here know anything about it. I could possibly have a teaching position there this fall.

I know you have worked hard to be able to graduate from Fairhaven. Congratulations! I will surely pass the message along to Marcia. We will be praying for your dad no doubt. I really don't know anything about Faith Baptist. However, I am sure you will do your homework before you make major decisions.
