He is Precious (part 2)

"(v.4) To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (v.5) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (v.6) Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (v.7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner," (1 Peter 2:4-7). Here in these verses the Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned as being "precious" three times. It is no exaggeration to say that Christ is precious. What a simple and profound truth from the Bible, "He is precious." This truth resonates in the heart of every believer. He is Precious (part 1)

"Unto you therefore which believe, He is precious..." (1 Peter 2:7a)

Peter's epistles to the Hebrew Christians presents a survey of what is precious. In 1 and 2 Peter you will find that there are five precious things:

A. 1 Peter 1:7 -
"That the trialof your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:" When Christian's take a stand for Jesus Christ, they can expect persecutions. This friction is viewed by many as adversity, but God views it as precious. When we respond Biblically to suffering and testings then our pain is converted to praise, and that praise belongs to God.

B. 1 Peter 1:18-19 -
"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without …
